The deputy speaker in Pakistan National Assembly disallowed discussion and vote on the no-confidence motion against the Imran Khan government, terming it unconstitutional. Soon after, Imran Khan in a televised address to the nation asked people to prepare for new elections. President Arif Alvi, on Khan’s advice, dissolved the assembly, which means elections will have to be conducted within three months.
