Since satellite internet service like Starlink is not bound by traditional internet infrastructure, quick deployment in hard-to-reach areas during disasters and wartime situations is possible. Starlink works with a mesh of about 2000 low orbit satellites, providing broadband speeds up to 150Mbps via a pizza box-sized dish antennae that track the satellites. The on-ground hardware is called user terminals.
